KOTA KINABALU: The speed limit change from 80km/h to 60km/h on Jalan Lintas (near Lintas Plaza and Luyang Health Clinic) is due to a U-turn flyover and entry/exit ramps on the road.

Deputy Chief Minister cum Public Works Minister Datuk Shahelmey Yahya said this is one of the safety measures taken by the government to reduce the risk of road accidents on that route.

"Road signs indicating the speed limit on that road have been erected since the U-turn flyover on Jalan Lintas was opened to the public in January 2023.

"The public is advised to always comply with and be aware of the road sign instructions placed on the road shoulders to avoid road accidents," he said in a statement, Friday.

For the road from Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) towards Inanam, a speed limit of 60km/h is enforced along approximately 870 metres starting from the Lido traffic light intersection and ending before the Jalan Kolam/Damai traffic light intersection.

Meanwhile, from Inanam towards KKIA, a speed limit of 60km/h is enforced along approximately 950 metres starting from the Jalan Kolam/Damai traffic light intersection and ending before the Lido traffic light intersection.

Apart from the traffic light intersections mentioned, a speed limit of 80km/h is still enforced on Jalan Lintas.
