Charting forward-thinking approaches to higher education

Representatives of 24 institutes of higher learning in a recent meeting hosted by KTYS.
“Through closer cooperation with IPTN members, we aspire to propel our sector towards greater heights, in line with national educational objectives,” said Datuk Hajah Tah Nia Haji Jaman, Chairman of the Board of KKYS Sdn Bhd.
“It is vital we work together to address current challenges and seize the opportunities in our higher education landscape in order to drive holistic improvements in educational quality and efficacy,” she said.
Tah Nia said on its part, KTYS would continue to invest in education and training to ensure its students begin their career on a right footing as part of its commitment to the State Government to produce competent and skilled local human capital.
Chaired by Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah (USAS) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dato’ Dr Wan Sabri bin Wan Yusof, the meeting aimed to ensure Malaysia’s higher education remains relevant and competitive in a dynamic global landscape.
Central to the agenda was the formulation of pertinent policies aligned with educational development.
“These policies, spanning financing, teaching standards, research, and industry collaborations, seek to provide a clear and consistent framework for higher education advancement,” said KTYS spokeswoman Ellen Sikodol.
It also served as a vital platform to exchange ideas and strategic planning, as well as an avenue for meaningful dialogue and collaborative problem-solving to address contemporary issues facing state-owned higher education institutions.
“By fostering enhanced communication and collaboration, the nation’s higher education network stands to benefit from expanded research and innovation opportunities, ultimately enriching the student experience and societal outcomes,” she said.
Meanwhile, Ellen said intake for May and June for Automative (Level 2), Pastry (Level 2 and 3) is now open.
KTYS’s Pusat Warisan Kraf (PWK) is also inviting interested applicants to enrol for its Korean Language, its’ latest addition.
