La Salle High School STPM 2023 appreciation ceremony

Moment of joy for the graduands with teachers, principal board and alumni chiefs.
La Salle High School Kota Kinabalu held a grand STPM 2023 Appreciation Ceremony to celebrate the achievements of their graduates last Saturday, April 27, according to Mohamad Ariffin Khan, Social Secretary of the La Salle and Sacred Heart Alumni Association.

The event, held at the school’s auditorium, was attended by graduates, their parents, teachers, and several distinguished guests.

The ceremony began at 8:30 a.m. with the arrival of the graduates and their parents. 

Shortly afterward, the invited guests started to arrive, followed by the arrival of the guest of honour, Ho Kin Wong, the Chairman of the School Board of Management for SM La Salle.

His arrival was greeted with a procession of STPM 2023 graduates, accompanied by the school’s Scout unit and educators, including the school’s principal, Vijaya Kumar A/L Arumugam.

The ceremony opened with the singing of the national anthem, “Negaraku,” and the state anthem, “Sabah Tanah AirKu,” followed by a welcoming speech by the principal. 

In his opening address, Ho emphasised the importance of education and the achievements of the graduates. 

Agatha Patris, the Deputy Principal for SM La Salle’s Upper Sixth Form, then declared the official opening of the ceremony.

Datuk Ram Singh, President of the La Salle and Sacred Heart Alumni Association, presented the certificates, in honour of the graduates for their achievements in co-curricular activities, including uniformed units, clubs and societies, as well as sports and games. 

The ceremony continued with a multimedia presentation showcasing memorable moments throughout the school year.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of academic certificates to graduates who achieved a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.00 and above and the awarding of scrolls to all graduates. 

Ho received a token of appreciation at the end of the event at noon.

The ceremony ended with the exit procession of the ceremonial mace, the guest of honour, the principal, and SM La Salle’s educators.
